This morning we were in Mary Lee Doughnuts and a group of girls (that my girls and I know well) from school walked in. It made me extremely sad that neither group of girls spoke to the other. One group didn’t speak out of fear of rejection, the other didn’t speak out of fear of losing popularity points. Is it just me or is this issue getting worse? I know middle school has always been this way… but to ignore someone you know! At first I was sad for my girls, but the more I thought about it… I’m just as sad for the girls that feel they have to be mean to be popular.
This got me to thinking about what our kiddos go through everyday at school. On both ends of the spectrum. Let’s teach our kids to #speaklife, to #love and to #bekind to others. Not DESTROY…
